Project Description
The clients wanted to rebuild a smaller two-storey house as a full-sized three-storey home. Their design included an open-to-above area at the rear of the main floor, a separate basement, custom wall panelling and modern finishes throughout. We added full-height windows to bring more natural light into the house.
The narrow site left less than 2 feet of clearance on one side and between 3 and 4 feet on the other. Demolition, cleaning, material delivery, and much of the construction therefore had to be completed by hand. Steel beams and posts provided the support required for the new layout. Inside, tile and wall panels were used throughout much of the house. Large fibreglass and steel windows and modern stone finishes completed the front elevation.
